Veterans Day 2007

On Sunday, November 11, 2007 a squad of AMVETS Post 66 Members paid a visit to the Heartland of Piqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  Director Theresa Smith and a group of 13 resident veterans and their families greeted us. During a rainstorm we renewed their flag in a brief ceremony. We then went inside for fellowship, cake and punch in the Dining Hall. It lifted the spirits of both residents and AMVETS members. After we saluted them farewell we toured the facility and greeted three of the bed bound vets. After an hour or so we parted leaving promises of returning again.
